Destination Wedding A Destination Wedding with a Few Detours
Wedding in France
From the very beginning, it was clear to Yalda and Soren that they wanted a celebration that would bring all cultures together.
Both are from America, but their roots are in Persia—and that is exactly what they wanted to bring together in the celebration.
- Elegant, Traditional, and Modern Combined
Their original idea was to get married in Austria. They both love the culture and wanted to share a little bit of it with their loved ones.
As is so often the case in life, however, things don’t always go as planned. Due to family issues related to entry into the country, the wedding had to be rescheduled to take place in France
In the end, this didn’t spoil the celebration at all; rather, it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a wedding weekend at the beautiful Château de Lésigny—one that the guests will remember forever.
Preparation and location search
Finding the right venue was a quick and easy task for the two of them.
The original plan was for an intimate celebration with no more than 40 guests.
In the end, there were twice as many guests, and the chateau—with its family-run atmosphere and traditional French charm—was the perfect fit for Yalda and Soren.
Wedding Day
The wedding day in May began with rain and gray clouds hanging over the venue. Everything was ready for the outdoor ceremony in the garden; only the weather wasn’t cooperating yet.
But anyone who knows me knows that I always make sure the weather is beautiful for all my weddings. That was certainly the case for Yalda & Soren’s big day.
Finally, the setup was completely in place, and 30 minutes before the wedding ceremony began, the sun was shining.
- Champagne, Croissants & Amour
After the ceremony, champagne and French delicacies were served outdoors.
Before dinner, as is traditional in Persian culture, there was an opening dance, followed by an hour of partying before dinner.
Dinner & Party
Dinner was held indoors. A typical French meal was served.
A DJ created a lively atmosphere with a mix of traditional Persian and Western songs, and the party went on late into the night. The cheerful crowd made the evening unforgettable.
Authentic insights & special moments
Everything in perfect harmony
The biggest challenge was organizing everything remotely while dealing with a language barrier—everything was planned from Austria, in close collaboration with local service providers in France. But with patience, trust, translation tools, and the right preparation, everything came together perfectly.
A special moment was the traditional knife dance at the party—something I’d never seen before and a truly beautiful moment.
- This wedding was no ordinary event, but a celebration brimming with French elegance—stylish, emotional, and imbued with that very special savoir-vivre.
