Sunshine, olive groves, and Italian joie de vivre
Wedding in Apulia
When Timo and Nina decided to get married, they quickly agreed that they wanted a celebration with a southern flavor—warm, light, and carefree.
Both are from Austria, love good food, the sun, and the sea—and that’s exactly what they wanted to share with their loved ones.
- Mediterranean, minimalist, and charming
The Masseria Alchimia in Apulia was the perfect location for this. Nestled among olive trees and featuring architecture that is both purist and charming, it provided the ideal setting for an authentic Mediterranean celebration.
Preparation and location search
The search for the right location quickly led the couple to southern Italy. Timo and Nina fell in love with the atmosphere of the masseria on their very first visit—that feeling of tranquility, warmth, and Italian lightheartedness.
The plan was to have an intimate celebration with 20 guests—family and close friends, some of whom had traveled from Austria and Germany. The aim was to spend a weekend together enjoying good food and conversation—not just celebrating for a single day.
Wedding Day
The wedding day in September began with golden light falling over the olive groves. Everything was ready for the outdoor wedding ceremony in the garden.
Nina wore a light, figure-hugging dress, Timo an elegant suit—very much in the style of the south. During the wedding ceremony, it was quiet, with only the sound of the wind rustling through the olive trees accompanying the couple’s emotional vows.
- Aperitivo, Antipasti & Amore
After the ceremony, aperitifs and antipasti were served outdoors—featuring Italian classics such as burrata, focaccia, and prosecco.
The guests enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, laughed, danced barefoot, and let themselves be carried away by the Mediterranean mood.
Dinner & Party
Dinner was served in the courtyard of the masseria. A typical Apulian menu was served—homemade pasta, fresh fish, and local wines.
Later, a DJ created a lively atmosphere with gentle Italo beats that lasted late into the night. The warm breeze, candlelight, and cheerful company made the evening unforgettable.
Authentic insights & special moments
Seamless organization
The biggest challenge was organizing everything remotely—much of it was planned from Austria, in close cooperation with local service providers. But with patience, trust, and the right preparation, everything came together perfectly.
A special moment was the sunset shortly after the wedding ceremony—when the light bathed the masseria in golden tones and Timo and Nina simply paused for a moment.
- This wedding was not a traditional event, but rather a celebration of the senses—authentic, emotional, and full of southern Italian joie de vivre.
